Patrick Raynor Fine Art

A Life Long Student of Art

Creating a seperate reality through Light and Color

Mission Statement

"I Patrick Raynor, help people celebrate the boundless joy of what can be seen all around us by creating bold and vibrant oil paintings."

I have been drawing and painting my entire life and can now devote all my energies to painting. I am now retired after serving for thirty-three years in the United States Postal Service.

I paint in oils as it has been the tradition of artists for hundreds of years. The masters of painting have achieved an infinite range of effects with oil paint. They have created lasting images of beauty that have endured as historical documents as well as an insights into the artist's vision, place and time. I paint in the "impressionistic" style which conveys a heightened sense of color and a looseness which is more reflective of my own personality and vision. Impressionism is also a lot more fun than other styles of painting too.

Some of my paintings are done "plein aire", which simply means painted quickly, outside on location. I also paint in my studio using photographs as references. Beach and coastal scenes as well as locations in and around the beautiful city of Wilmington are sources of inspiration. Other subjects I paint are residential homes on commission and portraits of pets, boats and people.

A painting has permanent value and becomes a family heirloom to pass on to your children and your children's children.

Own a beautiful moment in time that will last forever.
